Artist: Hobo Johnson
Song: Typical Story
From: Sacramento
Led by vocalist and frontman, Frank Lopes Jr, the new sing “Typical Story” is one of two released so far. They’ll be on his new album, “The Fall of Hobo Johnson,” that comes out September 13.
Lopes started his journey into hip-hop at the age of 15. Then at 19, he found himself working at a Sacramento pizza shop and living in a 1994 Toyota Corolla, after his father kicked him out. The name of the car was the official title of his debut record released back in 2015.
Now the band behind Lopes includes, Ben Lerch on the drums, Derek Lynch on the guitar and piano, as well as bassist David Baez-Lopez, and multi-instrumentalist Jordan Moore.
Hobo Johnson will be performing in Chicago over the next couple of days for Lollapalooza.
They’ll be on the road for a while supporting their third record this fall, which is their second on a major label.
You can catch them at Toronto’s Danforth Music Hall on November 13.
