Last summer the city of Belleville introduced Pop Ups on the Bay…although the vendors ended up being not quite “by the bay” but in Riverside Park…because of flooding along the bay shore. This year, the city is putting a positive foot forward that neither flooding nor pandemic will stand in the way and is now asking local vendors to apply for a Pop-Up shop. In particular, the city is looking for recreational equipment providers like kayak and bike rentals and sales, clothing retailers, local food and craft producers, ice cream and coffee vendors and food truck operators.
The plan is to locate the Pop-ups at West Zwicks Park from June 18 to September 7. Now this all comes with one very large “if”. The city notes the viability of going ahead with the Pop-Ups in light of the COVID-19 outbreak will be assessed as the date approaches in consultation with Public Health. They indicate, with this uncertainty, applicants that are approved to operate a Pop-Up, won’t be obligated to actually do so. Right now the city says it is looking for interest. Want more info? Here’s a link to the application.
