Northumberland County welcomes its first female Paramedic Chief Susan Brown. The new chief has 28 years of experience and is a perfect person for the position, this according to outgoing chief Bill Detlor. Before her new role Brown was the Deputy Chief of Operations with the Northumberland Paramedics.
Brown is looking forward with her team in these difficult times and welcomes the challenge. She is also moving forward in regards to initiating mental health supports for her first responder staff. Recognizing the stress and effects of PTSD on paramedics and other staff is one of her top priorities.
