
It’s hard to believe that as we work through a snowstorm today, construction season is just around the corner!
Crews will be back working on the Bay of Quinte Skyway Bridge as of March 1st.
The bridge on highway 49 connects the eastern side of Prince Edward County to the Tyendinaga area. Single lane closures will once again start back up in March.
Here’s the list of work planned for this year:
- All superstructure work within Segment D (South span of the bridge)
- Rehabilitation of piers underneath the bridge
- Structural steel repairs
Here’s the scope of the closures for this year:
Permanent Single Lane Closures for Segment D, Controlled by Temporary Traffic Signals.
- Occasional-Full Bridge closures will occur at night from 9:00pm – 6:00am Mon-Thurs and Midnight-6:00am Fri
- (Short Duration 15min/Hr) (Extended Duration 30min-2Hrs) (Full Night Closure 9:00pm – 6:00am)
- Closures to occur from March 2021 – January 2022
