Hastings Prince Edward Public Health reported 15 new cases of COVID-19 during their Sunday update.
Staff note that 13 more people have recovered since yesterday, which brings the active total of cases to 156.
One person is also out of hospital, which brings the number of patients to seven.
There are 2 people in ICU and one on a ventilator.
The five outbreaks continue in the region:
- Workplace in Trenton, declared March 30 – 4 cases linked to date.
- Workplace in Belleville, declared March 31 – 7 cases linked.
- Childcare Facility in Belleville, declared April 1 – 11 cases linked.
- Congregated Living Facility in Quinte West, declared April 2 – 1 case linked.
- Tri-Board Bus #499, declared April 7 – 2 cases linked.
A total of 141 variants of concern have been identified since the start of the pandemic, with 21 added to that total just today.
HPEPH announced the seventh death linked to COVID-19 during their update yesterday.
Staff note that 41,469 vaccines have been administered, with 3,214 people fully vaccinated.
Currently the area is working under Phase Two of the province’s vaccine rollout.
Hastings Prince Edward District School Board tweeted out last night, that a student at Eastside Secondary School in Belleville has tested positive for COVID-19. The health unit has contacted all high-risk contacts, but a letter was sent to those in the school community.
