Hastings Prince Edward Public Health is reporting that more people are in hospital with COVID-19.
Staff say there are now 20 patients being treated, with 7 in ICU and four on a ventilator.
Across the region, a total of 13 new COVID-19 cases were reported today. There are now a total of 84 active cases.
Five of the new cases listed today are related to outbreaks, while four others are close contacts.
Health officials are reporting a total of five outbreaks:
- Workplace in Belleville (Declared April 28) – 2 cases linked.
- Belleville General Hospital, Quinte 5 Unit – 5 cases linked.
- Workplace in Belleville (Declared April 23) – 6 cases linked.
- Workplace in Prince Edward County (Declared April 19) – 6 cases linked.
- Community Outbreak, located in Belleville (April 16) – 2 cases linked.
HPEPH says that a total of 65,804 vaccine doses have been administered, with 4,064 people now fully vaccinated. That represents about two per cent of the local population.
The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit is reporting five new cases today in Northumberland County. That brings the county to a total of 44 active COVID-19 cases.
Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington Public Health is reporting a dozen new COVID-19 cases today. The are a total of 76 active COVID-19 cases. Two local people are being treated in hospital, with two in ICU, and one on a ventilator.
KFLA has launched a daily COVID-19 vaccine standby list for those are a eligible and waiting for their first dose.
This week, the health unit announced that they expect to receive double the Pfizer vaccines by May 17th. As plans stand now, a total of 9,360 doses will be arrived per week.
