Chamber of Commerce across the province have been teaming up with the government to provide Rapid Antigen Tests for their members.
The Quinte West Chamber of Commerce has announced today, that over 2,000 COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Screening Kits have been distributed to their chamber as well as neighbours in Belleville and Prince Edward County.
Quinte West adds that 35 businesses have signed up to participate in the program.
Free kits are offered to any small and medium sized businesses that employ less than 150 people.
This is another tool to use so employers can continue to screen for the virus, especially for workers who may come in with no symptoms.
“The City of Quinte West has sponsored the Rapid Antigen Screening program and is going to cover the costs of the biohazard pick up from the Quinte West Chamber of Commerce by Stericycle. This will allow businesses to return the used test pads and test tubes back to the Chamber in a biomedical container for proper collection and disposal. This will make it much easier for businesses; and ensure that the waste generated from this program stays out of the landfill and will be incinerated in accordance with provincial guidelines,” added a statement today.
Any employee who has a positive or inconclusive test will be required to get a PCR Test before they return to work.
