
Hastings Prince Edward Public Health is reporting no new COVID-19 cases today.
Five people have recovered, which brings the total number of active cases down to 11.
Healthcare workers continue to treat five COVID-19 patients in hospital, with two in ICU and one of a ventilator.
Total number of active cases:
- 5 in Belleville
- 3 in North Hastings
- 1 in Centre Hastings
- 1 in Prince Edward County
- 1 in Quinte West
Public Health says that 54 per cent of the local population has received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, with five per cent now fully vaccinated.
Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington Public Health has announced two new COVID-19 cases today, for a total of 12 active cases.
The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health unit is reporting one new case of the virus in Northumberland County. Northumberland now has a total of 11 active COVID-19 cases. The health unit overall is reporting a total of 75 active COVID-19 cases in the jurisdiction.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced today that students will finish off the school year learning remotely.
Dr. Piotr Oglaza, the Medical Officer of Health and CEO with HPEPH, announced during a board meeting today that he opposes the decision made by the Ford government. Oglaza says that health officials have not see any additional transmission of the virus in the second or third wave of the pandemic, as a result of schools.
