Communities across the Quinte region are celebrating Pride Month.
The City of Quinte West has officially unveiled a number of rainbow crosswalks across the community.
“Pride month is a great example of how Quinte West is a welcoming city to all individuals. We have a responsibility to make all residents feel safe and welcomed. If you have friends or family in the LGBT+ community, reach out to them and make sure they feel loved, even if we can’t celebrate together in person,” said Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison.
The pride flag is officially flying outside of City Hall and Mount Pelion.
You can also find rainbow crosswalks at the following locations:
- In front of Quinte West City Hall
- On Dundas Street West In front of Scotiabank downtown Trenton
- On Front Street in front of the Grind and Vine Café
- The entire four-way stop at Mill Street in Frankford
The pride flag at City Hall is currently at half-mast in honour of the 215 children, whose bodies were found at the site of a former residential school in Kamloops, British Columbia.
