Belleville residents can now share their thoughts about if the City should change the ward boundaries in time for the next election.
The proposal was brought forward by Mayor Mitch Panciuk back in May.
Belleville currently has two wards, with six councillors from Ward 1, and two from Ward 2, known as the Thurlow ward.
Panciuk is proposing a new four-ward system, that would have two councillors for each ward. The number of people around the horseshoe would not change.
The City is now entering a public consultation period.
An online survey is up for residents to fill out before August 3rd.
“This is an issue that will affect every Belleville resident. The decision made now could improve the way you vote and how you are represented. Please take a few moments to watch the short explainer video and complete the online survey at the link below to have your say, said Mayor Mitch Panciuk.
