
The local health unit is sharing some good news in the fight against COVID-19.
Hastings Prince Edward Public Health is reporting no new cases today, and six more recoveries. That brings the region down to a total of three active cases. One person is in hospital, but not in the ICU or on a ventilator.
Health officials say that 80 per cent of local residents 12 and older have received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Just over 62 per cent are fully vaccinated.
Outside of Quinte:
The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health is reporting no new cases in Northumberland County. There are no active cases in that county. Local health officials have announced that those who are have appointments for a vaccine, after August 3rd will have to now reschedule or go to a walk-in clinic. Health officials are cancelling appointments made between August and November through the provincial booking system. This does impact those clinics in Campbellford and Cobourg.
Kingston health officials are also reporting no new cases of the virus. There is still one active case in the region.
