The Trenton Golden Hawks have announced that five new players will be joining their roster for the upcoming season.
The OJHL did not play last season due to the pandemic. Trenton did get a few series in last year with Wellington and Lindsay, under strict COVID-19 protocols.
Here’s who is coming to Trenton:
Tyler Laureault is a goaltender from Lasalle, Ontario. He is coming over from the Ottawa Jr. Senators in the CCHL. The move was made in exchange for Player Development Fee.
Aiden MacIntosh is a centre from Moncton, NB. He is moving over from the Amherst Ramblers in the MJHL. The move comes in exchange for Trenton player, Ryan Glazer.
“MacIntosh has major junior experience (St John Sea Dogs – QMJHL). His team in Amherst last year (2020-21) was really strong. We are excited to get him. A big player that can put up points. He is exactly the type of player we like to get. We want to wish Ryan Glazer nothing but the best in his career, and we thank him for his time in Trenton,” said Trenton Head Coach Peter Goulet.
Trenton has also acquired three centres from the Blind River Beavers in the NOJHL, in exchange for Player Development Fees.
Matt Cato, who was at a Trenton camp a few years ago. The Golden Hawks are also welcoming Justin Mauro and his brother Devin.
“The Mauro brothers from Sault Ste Marie are great young men. Justin put up some great numbers as a 17-year-old in the NOJHL with 48 points. Devin Mauro led his league in scoring in Midget AAA and has a ton of potential. Both guys are OHL drafted players. In COVID action last year, Devin was able to put up about a point a game. Secondary scoring and depth will be where these young men will really help the club,” said Goulet.
Trenton will welcome the Cobourg Cougars to town for their first home game on Friday, October 1st. The team says that season tickets are now available.
