With the COVID-19 pandemic keeping hockey away for a year, the Belleville Senators are getting ready to welcome fans back for the 2021-2022 season.
Several members of the Senators Organization and the City of Belleville, including Mayor Panciuk, were present for a media event to discuss the upcoming season. Ottawa Senators President of Business Operations Anthony LeBlanc spoke about how excited everyone in the organization is to be getting ready for a return to playing here in Belleville, and in front of fans.
“We are very confident that, come October, we will be in a position to sell full capacity here (CAA Arena) as at Canadian Tire Center” LeBlanc stated. He also had a lot of praise for the City of Belleville.
Mayor echoed the city’s excitement to have the Belleville Senators back, and praised the community for how they’ve come together through out the pandemic.
Also present at the event was Ottawa Senators Alumni Chris Neil and Senior Vice President of player Development Pierre McGuire. Both spoke about the importance of Belleville to the Ottawa Senators organization.
Pierre McGuire also spoke to me about hockey in Belleville over the years.
As of right now, the Belleville Senators will be able to welcome back 1000 fans to CAA Arena for Belleville’s home opener against the Laval Rocket on October 16, though they are hopeful that more will be allowed.
