Bay of Quinte MPP Todd Smith joined local officials in Belleville this morning to mark the completion of the Sagonaska Bridge rehabilitation project.
The work on the Pinnacle Street Bridge marks the first rehabilitation project since it was built in 1978.
“The Sagonaska Bridge is an important piece of infrastructure, well-travelled on one of the main north-
south routes through Belleville. I’m pleased to see the City has made good use of Ontario’s Connecting Links investment of up-to-$3 million to prolong its structural life and promote travel along Hwy 62, encouraging economic growth and revitalization,” said Smith.
Clearwater Structures Inc. did the work and Belleville Mayor Mitch Panciuk noted that they finished ahead of schedule.
Panciuk added that the Sagonaska Bridge is the busiest bridge that the City of Belleville is solely responsible for and, it was important to get the project done.
