Quinte Conservation and Lower Trent Conservation have both issued bulletins regarding the weather over the next few days.
Local forecast in the Quinte Conservation areas are calling for 50-60 mm of rain as well as high and sustained winds reaching 20-50 km/h. There is a low risk of flooding on larger water systems, while some isolated flooding is likely around small watercourses, urban areas, and ditches.
Lower Trent Conservation says they could see 50-100mm of rain in their area. Nuisance flooding is possible along streams and waterways, however wide spread flooding is not anticipated.
Residents are reminded to keep their sump pumps in good condition and to keep ditches and storm drains clear of obstructions, as well as to keep children and pets away from waterways.
The advisories are both in effect until Friday September 24.
