Hastings Prince Edward Public Health reported another drop today, in high-risk COVID-19 cases being reported and the number of people in hospital.
Staff note that there are 99 new high-risk cases identified. There are a total of 402 active high-risk cases listed.
There are nine local residents being treated in hospital, with 2 in the ICU. A slight drop from their last update on Wednesday. There are currently 11 active COVID-19 outbreaks in high-risk settings. The latest impacting Crown Ridge Retirement Home in Quinte West.
Ontario announced that overall there are 1,829 people is hospital with the virus and 435 in intensive care units. Another 2,900 new COVID-19 cases have been listed as testing remains limited.
Premier Doug Ford held a news conference this morning to address the ongoing protests in Ottawa, at the Ambassador Bridge and across Ontario.
Ford declared a state of emergency and urged all protestors to leave.
Protestors have been demonstrating against COVID-19 mandates and measures.
