St. Joseph Catholic School in Belleville is moving ahead with an addition.
The province has approved plans with the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board to create more spaces for new students and create a more modern environment.
The project is $19.8 million dollars. The elementary school is located on Bridge Street East in Belleville and has been around since the 1950s.
Bay of Quinte MPP Todd Smith’s office has released details today in a statement.
Smith’s office notes that the addition will help create space for 334 new students. There will be two EarlyOn rooms and three childcare rooms.
Students and staff at St. Joseph’s will be temporarily moving to Winston Churchill school as of March 21.
