91X has teamed up with Volunteer Information Quinte to share all the volunteer opportunities in Hastings and Prince Edward counties.

Here is how you can help this week:
- Prince Edward Learning Centre is looking for people to be volunteer tutors. You must be 19 years of age and older. Shifts are one to two hours a week from Monday to Thursday. You’ll receive training.
- Community Care Prince Edward County is seeking reception volunteers for the office in Picton and for the foot care clinic in Wellington. You have to have experience with computers. The team is also looking for some help in the Thrift Shop in Picton. Time commitment is a 3-hour shift per week
- VON HPE is seeking volunteer visitors to support and social interaction to isolated individuals through regular friendly visits at the client’s home encouraging active and independent living. Orientation and training provided.
- CDC is looking for members to be a part of their Board of Directors. They prefer if you have a fundraising or legal background. The meetings are monthly and training is provided.
- Canadian Cancer Society is seeking volunteer drivers in the Madoc, Tweed, and Marmora area. Volunteers pick up clients from their homes and drive them to and from cancer-related treatment, supportive care and follow-up appointments.
- Community Care South Hastings is looking for drivers. Volunteers provide door-to-door transportation to individuals both local and long distance. Mileage reimbursements will be are provided, as well as orientation and training. Various schedules are available. The group is also seeking volunteers to deliver Meals on Wheels to seniors Monday through Friday. The time commitment is 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. You can choose to help once a week, biweekly or monthly. You must own your own vehicle.
- Children’s Foundation is currently seeking volunteers to assist on May 11th at the McHappy Day event. Volunteers will be posted at various locations to assist with the event, collecting donations.
- John Howard Society is looking for some help in their Charity café located at the courthouse. Volunteers will work as a barista in the café. Shifts are available in both the morning and afternoons. The proceeds support youth employment programming.
- Abigail’s is seeking an enthusiastic volunteer to work in the Babies and Beyond program once a week on Thursday afternoons. Duties will include: Participating in all care routines, Caring for child care equipment, Set-up and take down activity area returning items to their storage place, Maintaining an organized activity area, Assist with planned activities.
- The Alternative’s for Women team is looking for community members to assist with Volunteer roles that help to maintain the programming and buildings. Tasks include childcare, providing transportation within PEC, sorting and packaging donations for clients, maintenance around buildings, and assisting with events.
