Today is the first official day of campaigning as apart of the Ontario election.
Election Day will be June 2.
If you are new to voting there are a few things to keep in mind:
- You must be at least 18 years old to vote.
- A Canadian citizen living in Ontario.
To check to see if you are on the list to vote, or register, you can visit Elections Ontario eRegistration. You can also download an application and return it to Elections Canada. You have to send it in by May 23.
Leaders of the major political parties here in Ontario:
- Andrea Horwath, leader of the NDP.
- Doug Ford, leader of the Conservative Party.
- Steven Del Duca, leader of the Liberal Party.
- Mike Schreiner, leader of the Green Party.
Candidates running in the Bay of Quinte riding:
- Alison Kelly, running for the NDP.
- Todd Smith, representing the Conservative Party, who is the incumbent.
- Emilie Leneveu, running for the Liberal Party.
- Erica Charlton, representing the Green Party.
- Rob Collins, New Blue Party of Ontario.
- Noah Wales, Ontario Party.
