There will be a new boat launch for people to use this summer near Wellington.
Staff with Prince Edward County have announced today that they have chosen a site on West Lake.
The update comes as the boat launch off of Belleville Street in Wellington was closed last year due to traffic and safety concerns.
The new boat launch on West Lake will be located at 16057 Loyalist Parkway. Staff note that the launch will be ideal for smaller boats, and not heavier ones. The county will be using gravel for the ramp. Parking nearby will have room for up to 15 vehicles and trailers.
The county plans to have everything ready and open by the middle of June.
