Doug Ford has unveiled his new Cabinet today as he was sworn-in as the Premier of Ontario for a second-term.
Ford and the Progressive Conservatives won the election earlier this month with a second majority government. They were able to secure 83 seats out of 124.
Ford has expanded his cabinet from 28 people last term to now 30 people.
Bay of Quinte MPP Todd Smith keeps his portfolio as the Minister of Energy. Northumberland Peterborough-South MPP David Piccini also keeps his job as the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks.
Ford has chosen Sylvia Jones as the new Deputy Premier and Minister of Health. She takes over for Christine Elliot who did not run. It’s a busy portfolio as Jones will look to move the province out of the pandemic as Ford has committed to building hospitals and boosting infrastructure.
Stephen Lecce keeps his job as the Minister of Education. Jill Dunlop will continue to serve as the Minister of Colleges and Universities.
