There is a new service outside the Quinte West Chamber of Commerce office in Trenton.
Quinte West has launched the Mobile Community Resource Unit and Community Cupboard in the Chamber of Commerce parking lot. The site will be open until September 2nd.
Residents can go to the Mobile Community Resource Unit (MCRU) to learn more about mental health and addiction services and other programs. The team also plans to host drop-in activities and an Overdose Awareness Day event on August 31. Details about the MCRU schedule can be found at quintewest.ca/mcru.
Next to the mobile unit is a new community cupboard that is open 24/7. Residents in need can go and find food and hygiene products. Those who wish to donate can drop-off items at the MCRU unit or contact the City of Quinte West’s Community Safety & Well-Being team at cswb@quintewest.ca.
Laurie Caouette joined us this week to talk about the new initiatives. She is the Community Safety & Well-Being Plan Coordinator.
