91X has teamed up with Volunteer Information Quinte to share all the volunteer opportunities in Hastings and Prince Edward counties.

Here is how you can help this week:
* Prince Edward Community Care needs volunteers to help in the Thrift Shop at 153 Main Street in Picton. Shifts are 3 hours each week from either 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. No experience is necessary and orientation will be provided. Community Care is particularly in need of volunteers to take a shift on Saturdays.
* The Stirling Musical Instrument Lending Library known as the Stirling M.I.L.L. is a not-for-profit organization that lends instruments out for free across the Quinte region. Volunteers are needed to be at their main site, located in the Stirling-Rawdon Public Library. The hours are Tuesdays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays starting at 10 a.m. Computer work and a background in musical instruments is ideal. There is also an ongoing need for skilled volunteers to help maintain instruments. They are also looking for people to help transport and return instruments to and from the Belleville Library.
* The first-ever Quinte Watersports Fair is planned for Saturday September 10 at West Zwicks Park in Belleville. The team is looking for help with a number of activities. Volunteers must be able to give a few hours per week from now and on event day.
* Gleaners Food Bank has had a very busy summer and are now gearing up for their fall programs and events and need your help! The team is looking for four volunteers to help answer phones and provide information to clients. Gleaners also needs another four people to help with the food boxes. They are also looking for volunteer drivers on Mondays and those who could pack food hampers on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Gleaners will be hosting a food bank drive on October 15 and October 16. About 20 to 30 volunteers are needed to help out.
* QUINTRA is currently seeking individuals interested in joining their Board of Directors. Meetings are held six times per year. Directors provide governance to the agency. Community Development Council is seeking volunteers for their Good Food Bag program. Volunteer positions include drivers, drivers assistants, packers, individuals to complete phone calls for pick up, cleaner up volunteers. There is some heavy lifting involved.
* VON Hastings Northumberland Prince Edward is seeking volunteer visitors to support and social interaction to isolated individuals through regular friendly visits at the client’s home encouraging active and independent living. Orientation and training provided
* Community Care South Hastings is currently seeking volunteer drivers to help people with shopping. Mileage reimbursements are provided. Orientation and training provided. Various schedules offered. They are also seeking volunteers to deliver Meals on Wheels to seniors. Volunteers are needed Monday to Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The commitment can be once a week, biweekly or monthly. You must own your own vehicle
* Quinte Conservation is currently seeking volunteers to assisting with organizing and helping out with their 75 Anniversary Artisan Market Fundraiser. This will be an outdoor event.
* The Museums of Prince Edward County have some unique volunteer opportunities at five of its locations in the county: Front-desk receptions and hosts are needed at some of the museums. Several volunteers will get a chance to dress in period costume and deliver programming. The museums in need of volunteers are: Macaulay House, the Ameliasburgh Heritage Village, Wellington Heritage Museum, Mariner’s Park Museum, and the Rose House Museum.
Volunteer Information Quinte refers volunteers to more than 275 agencies throughout Hastings and Prince Edward counties.
