Wet and heavy show will make shoveling and snow blowing more challenging this morning, but it is also causing numerous power outages in the Quinte area as snow-laden trees and branches take out hydro wires. As of 8am, the following areas are affected by power outages:
-An area just west of CFB Trenton, north of HWY 2 extending north to Harrington Road affecting about 1,000 customers.
-Outages in Wapoos, Big Island in Prince Edward County, as well as Hoards Station and the Stockdale/Frankford area affecting upwards of 200 customers in each area.
-Hydro One crews looking into numerous smaller outrages in Bayside, Foxboro, Picton, Rednersville, Deseronto, Shanonville and Marysville.
-In Belleville, Elexicon is reporting a small outage in the Elvin Gardens area.
In most cases, no estimated time of restoration has been announced
