Prince Edward County has issued a statement today, as the winter storm slowly starts to move into the region this afternoon.
Environment Canada has issued a Winter Storm Watch and Rainfall Warning as the storm is expected to really hit on Friday and Saturday. We could see damaging winds up to 120 km/hr and blizzard conditions as the system brings with it a mix of rain and snow. More snow could be in the forecast closer to Lake Ontario.
The County notes that crews continue to be out salting the roads this morning. Residents are being advised to avoid non-essential travel and have an emergency kit ready.
