The Belleville Senators have been spending time with a new member of the team.
The Sens have signed Peter Owens to a one-day AHL contract today.
The 8-year-old from Centre Hastings is currently undergoing treatment for Ewing Sarcoma, a type of bone cancer. He was diagnosed in July and is almost finished with his planned treatments.
Owens is helping the Sens get ready for their game against the Laval Rocket tonight at the CAA Arena. He has been involved in the morning skate, and will be doing more pre-game activities and player introductions.
He is a member of the Centre Hastings Grizzlies hockey team.
The Belleville Senators will play Laval tonight, tomorrow, and Family Day Monday.
