The Department of National Defence has announced that two military police squadrons will be starting a training course next week.
The training will take place from Tuesday, February 21 to Wednesday, March 8 at CFB Trenton and CFD Mountain View.
“This type of training is essential for maintaining the security maintenance and management skills for the participants to safely execute Canadian Armed Forces missions around the world, often under challenging conditions. It is important that these proficiencies are maintained in Canada, so our aircrew are prepared to execute these maneuvers,” noted staff in a statement.
Training will be done at the main and north gate at CFB Trenton as well as CFD Mountain View.
Residents may also hear blank ammunition being fired at CFB Trenton. Pyrotechnic will be used at CFD Mountain View. The team notes that there is no risk to public safety.
In Trenton, members of the military will be marching twice a day with visible weapons from Highway 2 to RCAF Road.
