The Quinte region is bracing for another winter storm, after a few spring-like days.
Environment Canada has issued a Winter Storm Watch. Cloudy with a chance of light snow this afternoon in Belleville as the storm starts to move in. High of -2 Celsius.
Tonight is when the tricky weather will start. Environment Canada is now forecasting 10 to 15 cm of snow and ice pellets overnight in Belleville. You could see just 5 cm of snow the closer you are to Lake Ontario. Low of -7 Celsius overnight with winds gusting up to 50 km/hr.
Thursday, periods of freezing drizzle and ice pellets mixed in with light snow. Wind gusty as the system tappers down. High of -5 Celsius.
As of this afternoon, Environment Canada has issued extreme cold warnings for seven provinces all the way from British Columbia to Newfoundland and Labrador. The wind chill could make it feel close to -50 Celsius is spots.
