David Bell will continue to lead the Belleville Senators on a permanent basis.
Bell has been the Interim Head Coach since February. The Senators announced this week that he has been promoted as the team’s third Head Coach in franchise history.
Bell led the team to a 14-9-3-3 record to close out the regular season. The Belleville Senators were just shy of a playoff spot.
“David is very deserving of this promotion. His transition from assistant to the interim head coaching position this past winter was seamless. We’ve witnessed good synergy between coaching staffs at the AHL and NHL levels which continues to be vital for an organization seeking to take the next step in both leagues,” said Senators general manager Pierre Dorion, in a statement.
David Bell will be working behind the bench with Assistant Coach Ben Sexton, Goaltending Coach Justin Peters and Video Coach Frederic Lemay.
