Belleville Police looking to identify a man who attempted to get a girl into his vehicle

Belleville Police are looking for assistance with identifying a man who reportedly attempted to get a girl into his car.

Police say the incident happened last night just before 8 p.m., in the area of Jackson Avenue and May Street.

The 12-year-old was walking home when a man pulled up in a car and kept asking her to get into his vehicle.

A couple who walked by happened to notice and told the man to leave the girl alone.

Belleville Police say that they were able to a view a home security video clip of the suspected vehicle, which is a white sedan with dark rims. However, police were not able to get a license plate. Police have released the image below of the vehicle.
