Queen’s University in Kingston has a unique opportunity for residents who are looking improve their mental health.
The Queen’s Online Psychotherapy Lab is looking for people across the province to participate in four studies. No referral is needed to join.
Here is a breakdown released in a statement.
- Depression AI Study: In this study, we offer 13 weeks of free and individual online CBT for anyone aged 18+ who is experiencing symptoms of depression and is currently living in Ontario.
- Insomnia Study: In this study, we offer 7 weeks of free and individual online CBT for anyone aged 18+ who is experiencing insomnia and is currently living in Ontario.
- Alcohol Use Disorder Study: In this study, we offer 10 weeks of free and individual online CBT for anyone aged 18-65 in Ontario who is trying to quit alcohol consumption but struggles with relapses.
- Correctional Workers Study: In this study, we offer 12 weeks of free and individual online CBT for any current correctional workers in Ontario who have been experiencing symptoms of PTSD, depression and/or anxiety.
- Cancer/Palliative Care Study: In this study, we offer 8 weeks of free and individual online CBT for any current oncology patient in Ontario (at any stage of illness) struggling with anxiety and/or depression.
Dr. Nazanin Alavi joined us recently on “In Touch With Quinte,” to talk about the studies. She is an an associate professor and co-psychiatrist and chief at Queen’s University. She leads the Queen’s University Online Psychotherapy Lab.
