Several local Ontario Junior Hockey League players are taking part in a showcase event this week in Trenton.
The Eastern Canada Cup All-Star Challenge brings together the top players from the OJHL, Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League, Central Canada Hockey League, Quebec Junior Hockey League, and the Maritime Junior Hockey League.
The event starts today and runs until Wednesday at the Duncan McDonald Memorial Community Gardens in Trenton.
The condensed games start each day at 9 a.m. The event is ticketed.
The Eastern Canada Cup All-Star Challenge serves as a platform for scouts to select players for the World Junior A event in December, along with other post-secondary school and professional opportunities.
