The City of Belleville has provided an update today about fareboxes on City buses.
Riders will see the new fareboxes on all City buses as of this Saturday. There will be no changes to the passenger experience during the transition.
Staff note that eventually people will be able to pay with cash to board the bus, use their reloadable pass, or gain access to the electronic pass through a QR code.
Debit and credit card options will follow after.
