This week on “In Touch With Quinte,” we highlighted the impact that a music community can have.
Harmony Lounge and Music Club, is a non-profit that started in Napanee a few years ago. Students from aged 12-16 can access music lessons and learn from mentors.
Nicholas Lennox, a teacher and member of Kingston band “The Wilderness”, started as a coach with the non-profit in the fall.
One of the bands that formed at Harmony Lounge and Music Club, Third Time’s A Charm, will be opening for The Wilderness when they perform at the Doghouse Studios in Napanee on March 1st. The show is sold-out. The plan is to have Third Time’s A Charm record at Evergreen Recording Co., recently started by The Wilderness.
Brock, the drummer for Third Time’s A Charm, along with Nicholas Lennox from The Wilderness, and Michelle Hauser with Harmony, joined us for an interview this week.
The Napanee show will mark the start of a new tour for The Wilderness as they promote their upcoming album. The project, “Strangers I Used To Love,” will be released on April 12th. There will be an album release show that night in Kingston.
Harmony Lounge and Music Club offers a variety of programs for youth throughout the week. They are based at St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church in Napanee. Teens outside the town are welcome.
Listen to “In Touch With Quinte” Friday at 10:30 a.m. and Sunday at 7 a.m.
