With the Extreme Heat Warning in effect for this week, the cities of Belleville and Quinte West remind you of places where you can go to stay cool.
In Belleville, the Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre along with the Belleville Public Library are the designated cooling centres for the city. The QSWC is open daily from 9:00am to 7:00pm. The library is open Mondays to Thursdays 10:00am to 8:00pm, Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00am to 5:00pm and Sunday 1:00 to 5:00pm (note, this coming Sunday…June 23…is the last time until the fall the library will be open on a Sunday).
In Quinte West, the Duncan MacDonald Memorial Arena is open daily from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Splash pads are also a great way to stay cool. Splash pads are open at the following locations:
West Riverside Park, Parkdale Veterans Park and Kinsmen Park in Belleville…open 10:00am to 8:00pm.
Centennial Park, Trenton and in Frankford, open 9:00am to 9:00pm.
