The Centre for Workforce Development (CFWD) has announced an upcoming Identification Clinic designed to assist vulnerable and unhoused individuals in Belleville…June 21, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Bridge St. United Church (Drop-In Centre), located at 60 Bridge Street East, Belleville.
This Identification Clinic will offer attendees the opportunity to access various vital identification and
community services, including:
● Canadian Birth Certificates
● Social Insurance Numbers
● Ontario Health Card (OHIP)
● Ontario Photo ID Card
● Pension Benefits (CPP, OAS, GIS)
● Canadian Dental Care Plan
● Employment Insurance (EI)
● Ontario Works information and application assistance
● ID fee waiver support for birth certificates
This event, spearheaded by the CFWD, features a comprehensive collaboration with government agencies, local businesses, and non-profits including Service Canada, ServiceOntario, John Howard Society, Belleville and Quinte West Community Health Centre, Hastings County – Ontario Works, CMHA, and Alterna Savings.
According to CFWD Executive Director Sandi Ramsay, “This partnership event is crucial for aiding those in need by providing easy access to essential identifications and community services that help to support unemployed, vulnerable and unhoused individuals in re-entering the local workforce,” says CFWD Executive Director Sandi Ramsay. “Additionally, this initiative exemplifies the power of community collaboration in addressing significant barriers and promoting inclusive workforce and economic participation.” Alterna Savings has generously sponsored the event by providing healthy snacks and cold beverages for participating clients, along with financial information resources.
