Habitat For Humanity Prince Edward-Hastings has released the following statement this week.
Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward-Hastings is thrilled to announce the success of its recent 50/50 draw held during the 2024 Empire Rockfest. The event, which took place from July 18th to 20th, raised an impressive $4,254, with the lucky winner taking home $2,127.
Empire Rockfest, known for its vibrant atmosphere and diverse musical acts, provided the perfect backdrop for a 50/50 draw. Attendees eagerly participated in the draw, contributing to a significant fundraising effort that will directly support Habitat’s mission of building affordable housing for families in need within the Prince Edward-Hastings community.
“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated in our 50/50 draw at this year’s Empire Rockfest,” said Hazzem Koudsi, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward-Hastings. “The funds raised will go a long way in helping us provide safe, affordable homeownership opportunities for hardworking families in our community. We couldn’t have done it without the support of Rockfest attendees, our dedicated volunteers, and Mark Rashotte for making us his charity of choice this year.”
The winning ticket holder expressed their excitement and gratitude upon receiving the phone call that they had won the $2,127 prize. The remaining funds will be used to support upcoming Habitat for Humanity projects, ensuring that more families in Prince Edward-Hastings have the opportunity to achieve the dream of homeownership.
Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward-Hastings would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this fundraising effort a success, including our volunteers, donors, and the organizers of Empire Rockfest. Sheridan Jennings, Board Chair commented, “Your support is invaluable and helps us continue our work in building stronger communities.”
