Belleville Downtown District BIA has released the following statement.
The much-anticipated Belleville Caribbean Festival is returning for another exciting year, promising a vibrant celebration of Caribbean culture, music, food, and community. Entering into its 3rd year the festival will take place August 16, 17 and 18th at Zwicks Park and Downtown Belleville locations, offering a day filled with colorful festivities and unforgettable experiences for all ages. The Belleville Caribbean Festival with the support of Discover Belleville, The Belleville Downtown District BIA in partnership with The Toronto Caribbean Carnival have joined together to bring this annual event dedicated to celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the Caribbean community in Belleville Ontario. The festival aims to foster a sense of unity and pride, while providing a platform for cultural expression and education. “The Belleville Caribbean Festival is a celebration of diversity, unity, and the vibrant spirit of the Caribbean community,” said Sean Kelly, Belleville City Councillor and Festival Co-Chair. “We are thrilled to bring this event to Belleville and invite everyone to join us for a weekend of joy, culture, and community.”
Event Highlights:
Live Performances: On Friday night at Zwicks Park between 5pm and 10pm. On Saturday at Front Street between 2 stages (1 across from City Hall and one on the corner of Bridge Street and Front Street) from 11am to 10pm. Sunday in Market Square from 9am to 12pm. A lineup of talented artists and performers will take the stage, delivering electrifying performances of reggae, soca, calypso, and more.
Delicious Cuisine: Attendees can indulge in a variety of Caribbean dishes,
from jerk chicken and roti to fresh tropical fruits and refreshing beverages each of the three festival days!
Grande Parade: Starting at 1pm on Saturday the 17th, a spectacular parade featuring traditional Caribbean costumes, music, and dance, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Caribbean islands leaves Zwicks Park and ends on Front Street!
Variety of Vendors: Downtown Belleville businesses will be vending as well as hosting sales and special caribbean themed offers in store and in restaurants. The Side Hustle Market is returning with a variety of vendors as well as many different vendors from the community.
