Carrying Place Swing Bridge closed nightly later this month

Quinte West has released the following statement.

 

 

The Carrying Place Swing Bridge will close to through traffic nightly from the evening of Nov. 12 to Nov. 14, and Nov. 17 to Nov. 21, for maintenance work.

Where: Carrying Place Swing Bridge
When: Nov. 12 to Nov. 14, and Nov. 17 to Nov. 21, nightly from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m.

The bridge will remain open on Nov. 15 and 16.

The Carrying Place Swing Bridge connects County Road 33 (Loyalist Parkway) across the Murray Canal, just north of Carrying Place.

During the nightly closure period, northbound and southbound traffic will be detoured via the Brighton Road Swing Bridge on County Road 64, located approximately five kilometres to the west of the Carrying Place Swing Bridge. Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles.
