New year and new start!
Here is the Volunteer Information Quinte Update for this week.
*Alzheimer Society HPE is looking for event volunteers to support upcoming fundraisers including the Shaken Not Stirred gala, and the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s, as well as book sales throughout the year. Planning committee members and day-of volunteers are required for all events. They would also welcome those interested in delivering awareness presentations as well persons with lived experience interested in advocacy.
*Bridge Street Lunch Program is currently seeking volunteer lunch servers on Sunday and Tuesdays from 11am to 1:30pm to serve lunch to guests and assist with cleanup of food and area. Volunteers are also required on Sunday to assist with greeting guests, monitor the area and assist with retrieving lunches for guests.
*Food For learning is seeking volunteers at various schools throughout HPE. Duties include shopping for items, preparing and serving food to students, and general clean up. Time commitment varies with each school, this program runs from September to June. Volunteer once a week or month. Training and orientation provided.
*Scouts Canada Bay of Quinte Group are seeking adult volunteers to assist with the following sections of the group Beaver, Cub, Venture and Troop. Volunteers assist in running hands on programs for youth ranging from 5 to 17 years, encourage teamwork, creativity and outdoor adventure. Orientation and training are provided.
*Catharine’s Kitchen located in Quinte West is seeking Volunteers to assist in food preparation, serving, and clean up. Shifts are from 8:45am until 1:30pm. There are on-call positions as well as scheduled positions. Catherine’s Kitchen runs from Monday to Thursday.
*Links to Learning is currently seeking volunteers to assist with their one to one reading program. This program runs Monday and Tuesday from 4:30 to 6:30. High school looking for volunteers are welcome.
*Community Care Central Hastings is seeking volunteer to deliver meals to seniors in their homes weekdays from 11 a.m. to 1p.m. Volunteers must have their own vehicle, time commitment can be weekly, bi weekly or monthly
*Community Care Prince Edward County Association is seeking Volunteer drivers provide door- to-door transportation service to medical appointments and essential shopping. In most instances, the driver will remain with the client to ensure their safe arrival home. Clients are independently mobile. Orientation and ongoing support is provided by a staff member.
*Gift from the Heart is seeking a volunteer to assist with their social media. As a Volunteer you will assist in Developing and Implementing content for Website and social media platforms to increase audience engagement and drive donors. Orientation provided, and the opportunity to work remotely based on experience.
*St. Vincent De Paul is currently seeking volunteers to assist with driving their truck to pick up donations and deliver items to individuals in the community. Volunteers must be able to drive a cube truck and able to lift furniture. Morning and afternoon shifts required; time commitment varies with your availability. Orientation and training provided.
Volunteer Information Quinte refers volunteers to more than 275 agencies throughout Hastings and Prince Edward counties.
