The City of Belleville has released the following statement today.
The City of Belleville is now seeking feedback from residents on the construction of a new playground at Elgin Park.
Elgin Park is located at the corner of Sidney Street and Moira Street West. The previous playground at the park was removed over a decade ago. The park was identified as a gap in the Parkland and Recreation Master Plan in 2022 and construction of a new playground was approved during 2025 capital budget considerations last October.
A public engagement process is now underway to gain an understanding of the needs and wants of the community for the structure and design elements for the playground. Residents and their families are encouraged to complete the survey before Feb. 9 to have their say.
Following the survey, a virtual public meeting will be held where attendees will have the opportunity to vote on their favourite proposal. Details for the meeting will be made available in the coming months.
Those who require accessibility supports to fully participate in the survey are asked to contact communications@belleville.ca so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
