The Progressive Conservatives continue have a stronghold over the broader Quinte region.
Doug Ford won a third majority government last night. The NDP will be the Official Opposition again, while the Liberals have official party status for the first time since 2018.
Locally, the PC incumbents were re-elected.
*Tyler Allsopp won the Bay of Quinte riding by 6,11 votes. Allsopp remains in the seat after being first elected in back in the fall, as the result of a by-election.
Quinte West Councillor and Liberal candidate David O’Neil finished second last night, followed by NDP candidate Amanda Robertson in third, Lorie Borthwick from the Green in fourth, and then Anthony Zambito from the New Blue Party, and Nick Maddison from the Ontario Party.
Voter turnout in the Bay of Quinte riding was 48%
*Ric Bresee won his second term for Hastings Lennox and Addington. The PC’s won with a margin of 7,700 votes over the Liberals. Voter turnout was 49%
*David Piccini will also continue to fly the PC banner in the Northumberland Peterborough South Riding. He won with a margin of just under 11,000 votes. Voter turnout was 52%
