Cobourg Police have charged a 16-year-old in connection to an incident at Cobourg Beach this week.
Police say in a statement, that on Tuesday afternoon, they were contacted by a group of people.
The group claimed they were at Cobourg Beach when an unknown male approached them wearing a balaclava covering his face. The male then lifted his shirt to reveal a black handle to an item tucked in his pants.
Officers were able to locate the male and arrested his after a short foot chase.
Cobourg Police were able to recover a black machete.
The suspect, a 16-year-old from Cobourg has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon and disguise with intent.
He was held for a hearing.
