Hastings County has announced that they have reached a new collective agreement with the union representing local paramedics.
County staff note in a statement released on Tuesday, that the County and OPSEU Local 496 have a new agreement that will cover the start of this year until the end of 2027.
The highlights of the agreement include a 4 per cent wage increase, and long-term disability premiums, which will go from being completely covered by the employee, to 50 per cent covered by the county in the next two years.
