Belleville Police responded to 224 calls for service over the weekend.
Among the calls, was a report on Saturday night about an assault that involved a child.
Police were told that a man reportedly used a TV stand to hit a 13-year-old.
Police arrived on scene where the situation had already been de-escalated, thanks to the child’s mother. Police add in their statement, that the child did not require medical attention for a minor injury.
The man, a 38-year-old, was arrested for assault. He has since been released with conditions, and has a court date next month.
