A two-vehicle collision near downtown Belleville resulted in a long list of charges for one driver.
Emergency crews were called to a two-vehicle collision yesterday around 10 a.m, in the area of Bridge Street West and Octavia Street.
Belleville Police learned from witnesses that a vehicle was speeding westbound on Bridge Street West, when it went up the sidewalk, proceeded to travel back on the road, and hit an eastbound vehicle.
Witnesses were able to direct police to the suspect in the westbound vehicle. The driver of the eastbound vehicle was transported to Belleville General Hospital.
The 33-year-old Belleville driver in the westbound vehicle was known to police for being a suspended driver. He was administered a roadside test and sent back to the station for further testing.
As a result, he has been charged with impaired and dangerous driving, driving while suspended, and failing to comply with probation.
He was held for a bail hearing.
