Belleville’s new alert ready system will be tested today.
Belleville Fire and Emergency Service will issue a test notification through the Belleville Alerts system between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.
Those who have signed up for the Belleville Alert System will receive a test notification through text and e-mail today. No action will be requred.
The new system came into place in January.
Residents are encouraged to sign up for the Belleville Alert system by visiting Belleville.ca/alerts or stopping by City Hall or Fire Station 1.
The system is designed to distribute critical information to the community, such as significant weather events, shelter in place orders, or updates about major fires that pose a safety risk.
