Quinte Health continues to report a deficit.
Stacey Daub, the President and CEO, brought the Board of Directors up to speed at a meeting yesterday.
The team ended the 2023-2024 fiscal year with a $6.6 million deficit. Daub noted that for the second-year in a row, they have ended the 2024-2025 fiscal year with a deficit around $9 million.
The deficit is attributed to an increase in demand, with more seniors in the area. Daub added that too often, hospitals have more and more patients waiting for long-term care beds.
