YMCA’s Centre For Life building now going near Rotary Centennial Park in Belleville

The YMCA Centre For Life building in Belleville, will not be going in the old fairground site after all.

David Allen, the CEO of YMCA Central East Ontario, has confirmed this week, that they will now build the Centre For Life at 355 Bridge Street West in Belleville. The site is near Rotary Centennial Park.

Allen noted that they were informed by the Ministry of the Environment in the spring, that in a second round of testing, the soil at the fairgrounds would delay the project. The site was originally tested last year, and at the time did not raise any concerns.

The YMCA has reached 75% of their goal to raise $9 million dollars for the centre.
