Quinte West eyeing the Loyalist College Sports Dome

The Loyalist College Sports Dome in Belleville, has been brought up at the Quinte West Council meeting this week.

Several residents and sports teams have come forward to the City, asking if they would considering taking over the operating the Sports Dome.

The Sports Dome is located near Residence at Loyalist College, but is operated by a Toronto company. The facility offers a large turf field and tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts. It is open to the public and Loyalist College community year-round.

On Wednesday, Quinte West Council approved a move to complete a study about how feasible it would be to operate the dome. The cost of the study has already been worked into the 2026 budget.
